City Girl, City Stories turned four years old this October! I’m really glad that I’ve kept this blog of mine running, as now I have another year of memories saved to look back on, and for anyone who drops by this site with an interest in Hong Kong and Singapore, I hope this blog gave you some inspiration and new places to check out! :)
It’s definitely been more difficult maintaining the site now as I work full time and when I’m not at work, I divide my time between going out, watching lots of TV and trying to squeeze in more reading time! I wouldn’t change it for anything, as I’ve always wanted a personal website/blog of my own and a space to collect and look back on all these adventures and memories anytime I want.
The idea for this blog started in Hong Kong. I remember whispering the name of the blog to my sister at a tiny Japanese eatery near the HKU campus and then registering the domain in my tiny room in a small apartment I was staying in at the time! I remember writing my first post at home in Singapore, and since then, this blog has followed me from Hong Kong to Singapore!
So, on this blog anniversary, I want to share my excitement but also wanted to say thank you to everyone for dropping by and for reading. As much as this is a personal blog, I also made it a public blog, because I wanted to share these adventures beyond Facebook albums and Instagram squares. Here are some highlights from the past year below, check them out? :)
Here’s to year 5! Cheers! 🎉
